Best lotions & oils for a pregnant mama belly

I started using oils and lotions on my belly like in my 7th week of pregnancy. I knew that my belly wouldn’t show at that point but I was DETERMINED to avoid stretch marks, so I wanted to start the habit early. I have gone through quite a few bottles of oils and lotions at this point, so I will tell you what’s worth it and what isn’t. Also, a very important note to mention: I am now 31 weeks pregnant and I still got stretch marks on my belly. Genetics are seriously the biggest factor when it comes to stretch marks – I religiously use my potions, but I still got them. Although, I am a little (like literally hardly) sad that they popped up, it isn’t the end of the world and it is out of my control. Plus, my body grew a healthy little baby who is almost here. ALSO – my husband promised I could get them all lasered off when we’re done having babies.. so that’s a #win. Your belly does get super itchy later in pregnancy because it stretches so much so this will definitely help guide you.

ELEMIS Japanese Camellia Oil Blend

This oil comes in the most beautiful red bottle and is made specifically for preggos. I loved the smell of this too and it soaks into your skin so quickly. The only negative to this oil is that I found the oil leaked out of the top when I used it – causing it to drip down the sides. I found that to be extremely annoying, but the quality of the oil was top notch.

Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter

I think this was my favorite lotion I used. I didn’t repurchase because I wanted to try a few types of lotions/oils. This lotion is so creamy and hydrating and made my skin so smooth. Now that I am typing this out, I think I am going to buy more because I love it that much.

Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil

This was another favorite. I only have a little left. It is so cheap from TJs and has great ingredients. Vitamin E is so good for the skin too. This oil soaks in pretty quickly so you don’t have to deal with you belly or body being sticky for a long time.

La Bang Nourish Me Hydrating Body Oil

Ok – the smell of this oil is by far my favorite off this list. I purchased the lime scent and the strawberry scent. Deliciousness. The ingredients are all natural in this oil blend so you know you’re to putting harsh chemicals on your body. I really love the packaging of this oil too. It kind of reminds me baby food in a squeeze tube? It makes it so much easier to get the product out.

Motherlove Pregnant Belly Salve

This salve comes in a cute little glass jar and has the consistency of like aquaphor. This smells so natural and also has amazing ingredients in it. It’s super thick and takes a bit of time to soak in, but it keeps my belly so soft. This lasts a pretty long time too because you don’t need to use much.

All-in-all, these products are great. There weren’t any oils or lotions that I didn’t like – I took recommendations from other bloggers/influencers (skinny confidential, sam ozkural, sarah’s day, etc.) and then did my own research on the ingredients. Even though I ended up getting stretch marks, my belly is so hydrated.

All products will be linked on my LTKit in the link below. Good luck mamas ❤
