I love chocolate chip cookies so much.. hands down my favorite dessert. They’re soooo delicious. My oldest daughter and I have been perfecting Santa’s cookies for literal months now. This is my go-to chocolate chip recipe and a crowd pleaser. Give this recipe a try with your little ones or on your own! It won’t disappoint. We think Santa is going to absolutely love these!
Ingredients:
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ cup sugar
¼ cup light brown sugar packed
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 egg
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (make sure this is exact)
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips
Method:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. While that is heating, melt your butter if you haven’t already. 40 seconds in the microwave usually does the trick, but if you prefer to melt over the stove, that’s fine too! Make sure butter is completely melted (after microwaving, there are typically still semi-solid pieces of butter, but mixing it around melts the remnants quickly) but not hot.
Grab a large bowl and mix the melted butter with the sugar and brown sugar until everything is combined. Add the vanilla and egg and mix again thoroughly.
Add in the flour, baking soda and salt and again mix thoroughly. Dough will have the consistency of a toll house cookie – not overly sticky and soft.
Fold in the chocolate chips until well distributed.
Scoop out a small spoonful of the cookie dough, roll into a ball and place on your baking sheet. I press my dough down to flatten it and make it more of a cookie shape.
Bake for 15 minutes. Let them cool for a few mins and dive right in to the deliciousness. Don’t forget to save some for Santa and to leave out some cold milk for him to enjoy!
I have topped caramel and flaky sea salt on top of these before and they are sooo good. This recipe is so versatile, you can add some many different flavors to suit your liking.
