Skin Care Holy Grails

So, I am by no means as esthetician or even a skin care guru. But I do really love all things skin care and trying out new products. I have been using the same products for a few months now while being preggo. Unfortunately, I had to change up my routine a little bit because some of the products I used to use are not advised for pregnant women – I will do a post on that after the baby comes and I most likely go back to that routine.

I am definitely enjoying my current routine – I like to keep it easy peasy.

Ok, let’s jump into it:

aquafor ~

I use this on my lips morning and night. I swear by this. You don’t need an expensive lip balm or mask (I mean unless you want to!) to keep your lips super hydrated. I put a super generous coat on and my lips never get chapped.

dickinsons witch hazel toner ~

Mentioned in a past blog of mine. I have gone through quite a few bottles of this stuff. You only need a little, so it lasts a really long time. I feel like it balances out my skin so much and removes any excess oil or face wash that may not have come off. You can get this right at the drug store & it’s like $6.

foreo ~

Ok, not a skin care product, more of a tool. But I love how this makes my face feel; I use this every night. It has a slight vibration to it and helps to massage your face. It feels so nice and it helps to de-puff my face. This is definitely not a must, but it’s a “nice to have”.

dhc deep cleansing oil ~

I have been using this stuff for YEARS. Like literally maybe 6 or 7 years. Probably longer honestly. A lot of people are scared of oils on their face, but nope, not me. Put a few pumps of the oil in your hands, rub together and give your face the best massage ever. This stuff literally takes off every ounce of makeup (including waterproof eye makeup) with such ease. When it’s time to wash your face, the oil turns milky and it is very easy to wash off. Give this stuff a try.

drunk elephant slaii makeup melting butter cleanser ~

A mouthful of a name. So between this and the cleansing oil by DHC.. I prefer the DHC. Solely for the fact that I do not like having to unscrew the lid of this, dig out a big of the cleanser, and then screw the cap back on. Granted, I could just wait to put the cap on, but I never do. I find this annoying. A plus to this cleanser is that it’s excellent for travel since it comes in a solid form (it turns into an oil when you rub it in your hands); the DHC oil + travel is a bit dangerous – but I feel that way with all liquids. Other than that minor annoyance, this cleanser works nearly identical to the DHC oil.

cerave hydrating cleanser ~

I use this in the shower because oil proves to be a bit difficult. I genuinely don’t think this takes makeup off as well as the oils previously mentioned, but my sensitive skin can’t handle much more of a cleanser than this. I have been using this for years and don’t have any complaints – I tend to use this more when I don’t have a full face of makeup on and I just want to wash the day off my face.

kiehls creamy eye treatment with avocado ~

I have gone through two of these jars already. I love the consistency of it and it seriously is so hydrating. My husband steals this from me daily (I finally got him to care about skincare) so now we are going through this even quicker #annoying.

indie lee squalene facial oil ~

I pretty much use this every day. I do mix up my moisturizers though. I use 3-4 drops of this, massage it in my hands and lightly press it all over my face. If i’m feeling wild, I put some drops directly onto my skin and use my gua sha to give myself a facial massage. I learned this from the Skinny Confidential (the best beauty blogger). This oil is ultra hydrating and soaks right into my skin. Hydrated skin keeps you looking young and that’s what we all want, right?

herbivore pink cloud rosewater moisture creme ~

This is also in my rotation for moisturizers. You only need a little bit of it to be ultra hydrated. I use the little spoon that comes with it to dip out a small amount, massage it into my hands and then press onto my skin. The consistency of this cream is really interesting – it’s a bit thick when you first scoop it out of the jar, but when you start massaging it in your hands it turns very light weight feeling. I am still on my first jar of this, but honestly it lasts a really long time.

la mer the moisturizing soft cream ~

Ok, this one is obnoxiously expensive, but it’s on this list for a reason. I have been using this (sparingly) for about 6-7 years. You only need a bit of this also, so you can make it last, but this has some super powers. I strongly suggest seeing if you can get samples because this.is.gold. GOLD! The smell is really light too. Ok I’m done. Try this.

farmacy green defense daily mineral sunscreen ~

Do you want to work so hard on your skin, just to compromise it with sun damage? I don’t. I spend enough of my money of potions for my skin to not wear sunscreen. This sunscreen melts right into your skin. I put this on every morning when I am getting ready.. even if it’s cloudy. I’m serious – I fixed a ton of hyperpigmentation on my skin and I DON’T want to have to fix it again!!

Everything mentioned will be in my liketoknowit. What skin care products are you using? Drop them in the comments below!

Until next time,
