First Trimester Recap

I told you this blog would include e v e r y t h i n g 🙂

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant, so you could consider me…. a pregnancy pro #justkidding.

Every woman and every pregnancy is completely different; no two are alike. So, take my feedback lightly.

First trimester, worst trimester. Not to scare y’all, but man that was rough. It is actually painful to try and keep your eyes open and the food down. What do I mean? Exhaustion, nausea, cramping, oof.

When I first found out my husband and I were expecting (I was 2 weeks and 6 days when I got my first positive), I felt amazing. I for sure thought that I would not have to deal with the lovely pregnancy woes that I have heard from coworkers, friends and family. 3 weeks later.. I was singing a different tune. The nausea and extreme fatigue hit head on. You will likely read that last sentence and not understand the magnitude of those words. These symptoms aren’t like a hangover.. they are so extreme and nothing I have ever encountered. I was taking 2-3 naps on weekend days; weekdays I struggled to keep my eyes open while working. It was bad. And the nausea honestly stemmed from my food aversions I think. Everything I once loved.. I now despised. Including coffee (Why????). I lived on buttered rolls for about a month and then I swear I was fine one day. It was so weird.

Besides the nausea and fatigue, no one tells you about cramping. Like full blown period cramps. I panicked NUMEROUS times because why else would that be happening if something wasn’t wrong?? Well.. turns out it’s completely normal. So here I am telling what no one told me! Obviously, consult with your doctor if you experience cramping, but you don’t need to have a full on meltdown like I did prior to speaking with them.

In fact, that is a huge lesson I have learned throughout pregnancy – don’t freak out until there is something to freak out about. We so often get so inside our heads and think of the worst case scenario. I think taking a step back and truly understanding that some things are simply out of your control makes certain situations easier.

Thanks for following along everyone 🙂
